Netscape 4.7 PC Email Setup

When you have Netscape open, go to menu bar and select "Preferences" from the "Edit" menu;. Choose "Mail & Newsgroups". The following screen should appear when you select the "Identity" tab:

 

Fill in the form as shown. Your name can be anything you choose. If your email address is joe@cwia.com put that in the POP User ID where the name "jim@cwia.com" is in the example. Your email name must be entered in lower case only.

Next select the "Mail Servers" tab and enter information as in example. If you do not have an entry in the mail server box, you will have to add pop.cwia.com. Click the Add tab. All entries should be in lower case be in lower case.


Next hight the server name and select the "Edit" tab and enter information as in example. All entries should be in lower case and notice that the user name has a "% sign".

Click "OK" button at bottom of each page when you are finished;

To get your mail, choose "Communicator" from the menu bar and select "Messenger". You will be taken to an email window and prompted for a login name or password when you click the Get Msg button. Enter your the request and your email will be retrieved.
